Returns & Refunds

Returns & Refunds

We want you to receive the correct parts for your marine engine or propulsion system. Because many marine diesel parts are application-specific, special-order, electrical, or sourced specifically for a customer's engine, certain return restrictions apply.

Please review the following policy before placing your order. If you're unsure whether a part is correct for your application, use our Find My Part service before ordering.

Return Eligibility

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, a return request for an eligible item must be submitted within 30 days of delivery.

To be eligible for a return, the item must be:

  • New, unused, and uninstalled
  • In its original packaging
  • Complete with all labels, seals, manuals, hardware, and accessories
  • In resalable condition
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase from Offshore Diesel Services

Return authorization is required before returning an item. We may refuse items returned without authorization.

How to Request a Return

Before returning any item, please contact Offshore Diesel Services to request return authorization. Include your order or invoice number, the part number, the reason for the return, and photos of the item and packaging when requested.

If we approve the return, we will provide return instructions. Do not ship merchandise back until you receive return authorization.

Receiving a return authorization does not guarantee a refund. All returned items are subject to inspection and the terms of this Returns & Refunds Policy.

Electrical & Electronic Parts

Electrical and electronic components are not eligible for return once opened, connected, programmed, installed, or used. This restriction does not affect eligible claims involving an incorrect item shipped by Offshore Diesel Services or a product covered by an applicable manufacturer's warranty.

Installed, Used or Opened Parts

Parts that have been installed, used, modified, damaged, contaminated, or otherwise altered from their original condition are generally not eligible for return.

Packaging may be opened only to the extent reasonably necessary to inspect the item. Products with damaged, missing, marked, or substantially altered manufacturer packaging may be denied return or subject to a restocking fee.

Installation marks, fluid residue, grease, damaged threads, tool marks, electrical connection marks, or other evidence of installation may make an item ineligible for return.

Special-Order, Non-Returnable, or Final-Sale

Certain items may be designated Special Order, Non-Returnable, or Final Sale.

Parts specifically ordered, sourced, configured, programmed, manufactured, or obtained for a customer's particular application may be non-returnable and non-cancellable once the order has been submitted to our supplier.

When applicable, we will identify special-order, non-returnable, or final-sale restrictions on the product listing, during the ordering process, or before the order is finalized.

Customer-Supplied Part Numbers

Customers who order using a part number they provide are responsible for verifying that the part number is correct for their application.

Providing an engine model alone does not always establish compatibility. Marine engine and propulsion components can vary based on serial number, production specification, drive configuration, and application.

If Offshore Diesel Services fulfills the exact part number the customer requested, the order will not be considered an incorrect shipment solely because the part does not fit the customer's application.

If you're uncertain about compatibility, please use our Find My Part service before ordering.

Offshore Diesel Services is not responsible for compatibility issues resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or incorrect engine, serial number, drive, transmission, or part information provided by the customer.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20%, depending on the item, manufacturer or supplier requirements, packaging condition, and costs associated with processing the return.

We will deduct any applicable restocking fee from the refund amount.

Return Shipping

Unless the return is the result of an error by Offshore Diesel Services, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Original shipping, expedited shipping, international shipping, customs charges, duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and other transportation-related charges are non-refundable, except where required by law or when the charge resulted from our error.

We strongly recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method. Customers are responsible for returned merchandise until Offshore Diesel Services receives and inspects it.

Incorrect or Damaged Orders

If you receive an incorrect, damaged, or incomplete order, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery.

Please retain the item and all original packaging and provide:

  • Your order or invoice number
  • Photos of the item received
  • Photos of the shipping carton and packaging
  • Photos of the shipping label
  • A description of the issue

Do not install a part that appears damaged or incorrect.

Do not discard the item, shipping carton, packaging materials, or shipping label until the issue has been resolved.

Once we review the issue, we will provide instructions for replacement, return, a carrier claim, or another appropriate resolution.

Defective Parts & Manufacturer Warranty

A part believed to be defective is not automatically considered eligible for a standard return or immediate refund.

Some products may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty and must be inspected or processed according to the manufacturer's warranty procedures.

Warranty eligibility and resolution are determined according to the applicable manufacturer's terms. The manufacturer may require inspection, testing, diagnostic information, proof of installation, engine information, serial numbers, or other documentation before approving a claim.

Offshore Diesel Services will assist customers with applicable warranty claims for products purchased from us; however, manufacturer warranty approval is not guaranteed by Offshore Diesel Services.

Damage resulting from improper installation, incorrect application, misuse, contamination, external system failures, improper voltage, neglect, modification, or normal wear may not qualify as a manufacturing defect under the applicable manufacturer's warranty.

Unless specifically covered by the applicable manufacturer's warranty, warranty claims do not include reimbursement by Offshore Diesel Services for labor, diagnostics, haul-out, travel, removal, installation, towing, loss of use, or other related expenses.

Order Cancellations

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel an order.

Orders not yet processed or submitted to a supplier may be eligible for cancellation.

Orders that have already shipped, been submitted to a supplier, entered fulfillment, or contain special-order or non-returnable merchandise may not be eligible for cancellation.

Any supplier cancellation or restocking charges associated with an approved cancellation may be deducted from the refund.

Exchanges

We do not guarantee direct exchanges. If you need a different part, please contact us for assistance. Depending on the circumstances, you may need to return the original eligible item under this policy and place a separate order for the replacement part.

If you're unsure which replacement part you need, please use our Find My Part service before placing the new order.

Refunds

All returned items will be inspected upon receipt to confirm compliance with this policy.

If the return is approved after inspection, the applicable refund will generally be issued to the original payment method. Any applicable restocking fees, original shipping charges, and other non-refundable charges will be deducted from the refund.

Please allow time for your bank or credit card provider to process the refund after it has been issued.
